Rescue the Hostages

Mission Length: 30min

Field Type: Fortress (any)

Requirements: Non-players for hostages (2-3 works best)

Concept: Rescue innocents from the bad guys.

Teams: 2 to 1 ratio (rescuers to kidnappers)

Objective: Innocent civilians have been taken hostage by the bad guys (terrorists, drug dealers, enemy army, etc.) and are holed up in a fortified bunker. Your team must kill the bad guys and rescue the hostages before time runs out.

Rules: This game can be played on any field but works better when the bad guys have a “base” to keep the hostages confined to. Either a bunker or a building of some kind will do. On a large field you may have opportunity to use 2 or more “hostage pens” and give the bad guys team the option of which one to hole up in. Hostages are designated at the start of the round (2-3 work best but if you have a lot of players more is fun too) and the bad guys are given 5 minutes to take the field first and set up positions. In order to rescue a hostage, they must be physically tagged by a player. Once they have been tagged they should follow movement orders for the team that has them currently tagged. The twist in this game type is that the hostages CAN be killed so they can and should be used as human shields. They are also considered the objective, so each team’s objective is to keep them alive. Inside bunkers, they can be killed by grenades so those must be used with extreme caution. Once the rescuing team takes the field the timer is started at 30 minutes (15 for a more intense game) and the hostages must be tagged and escorted by at least one player to a safe area before time elapses. Bad Guys and Rescuers alike abide by standard kill rules. MED should still be enforced especially when assaulting a bunker at close range. If a hostage is killed they should announce it and head back to a safe area immediately. Hostages must still wear the required protection when on the field and cannot wield or shoot weapons. For best results, use cute busty women as hostages.

Respawn Rules: Players respawn in safe area after 5 minute delay, hostages do not respawn.

Scoring: Win/Lose, if the hostages are rescued the rescuing team wins. If not the bad guys win. Points, 100 points for each hostage in your teams possession at the end of round, -50 points for each hostage killed in action assessed against the team that killed them (not the team that had them in their possession when killed).

+1 Difficulty: 1 to 1 ratio on teams, this should be much harder on the rescuing team.

Thanks for this post. I dig this scenario. I would like to see the scoring system be more clear though. What if there are 3 hostages; 1 is recovered but 2 are killed?
